Flamingo V1

This origami flamingo was designed as a little thank-you gift for a friend who lent me a book in 2023. I especially like about it, that it has no open back or belly, but is completely closed.

However that made the structure a little different from most flamingos: It is completely asymmetrical. When designing such a structure, I learned that it helps to stick to even grid numbers. This way, I had a better overview and in the end, all the parts fitted together. Its crease pattern is using asymmetric boxpleating based on a 32x 32 grid.

After making the first Version from Sandwich Paper, I made from Tissue paper, I made some photos and uploaded them. Later, I saw that the picture did not suit the design. Therefore, I refolded it from a 30 cm square of Duo Extra Large. The finished model is 16 cm in height.
