Some time ago, I played with some colour- change structures. When I stumbled upon one of them in 2023, I used it to develop this snowflake v1. I played with a design for a flower, but somehow it ended up looking like a star. I´m surprised, how little it took to distinguish it from a flower. That´s why nearly immediately after folding the first version, I tried to translate it´s structure into hexagonal patterns to better recreate a snowflake. The results can be found on the next page.
Even now, I can definitely encourage you, to play with the paper, let it guide you. You may find some more elegant shapes by just folding than by trying to plan them and implanting them in the crease pattern. In fact, I often use a mix of planning and playing even for my most complex models. More on that can be found here.
Due to it´s creation process, the snowflake v1 does not have a crease pattern. However, I retraced my steps and made a photo diagram. You can download it for free via my Ko-fi shop (as a little christmas gift) or below the pictures. In fact, it´s the first diagram, I published as one document (not just a collection of pictures). There is room for improvement, but for now I´m content.
