Flower on a card

Again a model designed for a friend´s birthday…
This time I only needed some original touch for a gift, so I went with a little flower on a card.

It starts with a twisted Hexagon, the rest is shown in the pictures. There is no crease pattern for this model. It´s one of my fastest and most easy to fold models. I needed a break from complex after folding the Scaled Wyvern V2

To be honest, I did not expect this little doodle to get a mention, but then it kept inspiring me for my next models. These are the

  • Pot 1
  • Flower Pot V1
  • My first tessalation (to be announced later in the year)

So why not publish the doodle that set it all off , maybe it inspires someone else , too.

Even if not, this is a great example for many of my designs: They start with a doodle or a structure I find interesting.
Then comes the subject, then the rest .

I can only recommend playing, doodling and making sketches. For mw, they are an important part in the design process. Just drawing crease patterns works, but I need to see my designs in paper to really get a good version. And who knows, maybe your sketch, your own “flower on a card” will inspire you, too.
