Elks provide origamists with a special challenge: You need big , flat parts to create an elegant body, the antlers on the other hand need small, tiny folds. That didn´t stop anyone from designing an Origami Elk and many of the results are absolutely stunning.
My solution was to combine boxpleating for the antlers with 22.5° design for the rest of the body.
Its crease pattern has diagonal symmetriy and is based on a 64 x 64 grid.
